LOOKS and BUILD FEATURES

The Moto G design comes with a decent Plastic body and it follows the same trend of its predecessor Moto G (1st Generation)

There is not much up gradation on the new Moto G2 design, but still the curves around the handset make it one of the few phones in the market which doesn’t look bad

On the other hand, Zenfone 5 from Asus has outrun the Moto G2 in terms of design. The Spun aluminum outer body with colorful looks makes it the best design so far in the market in the mid-range smartphones in India.

The Zenfone comes in a 148.2 x 72.8 x 5.5-10.3 dimension when compared to Moto G2's 141.5 x 70.7 x 11 mm size.

But still Zenfone 5 comes 4 gms fewer (145 Gms) when compared to Moto G's 149 gms.

DISPLAY FEATURES

Both Moto G2 and Zenfone 5 comes with a 16 M color Display where in the former is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and the latter is a IPS capacitive touchscreen.

Both the handsets come with a 5.0 inches screen which has the similar 720p x 1280p resolution which is really a par decent display resolution for this segment.

Both headsets comes with a similar PPI approximately 290+ and in this segment both G2 and Zenfone 5 touched the win mark at same time!

Both are protected by a decent and the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which is much of a welcome and alarming for the other high end phones which still lack it.

H/W SPECIFICS

The much acclaimed Zenfone 5 comes with a Intel Atom Z2580/ Z2560 processor which is a Dual-core 2 GHz (Z2580)/ 1.6GHz (Z2560) and powerful intel chipset processor. It is powered by a decent PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphical processor and the main and the much acclaimed and even the first time try of a 2GB RAM in a midrange smart phone.

Moto G2 on the other hand is also running a decent Snapdragon 400 Qualcomm MSM8226 chipset which clocks a speed of 1.2 GHz with  the help of a Quad-core Cortex A7 Processor.

 The graphics is supported by an Adreno 305 processor which is lesser powerful than the Zenfone's VRSGX544 GPU. And here comes the main difference and surprisingly, Moto G2 is coming with a 1 GB RAM even when it knew that the main competitor is Zenfone 5.

With a powerful Ram and a powerful Hardware, Zenfone 5 perfectly outshines the MOTO G2 in this segment.

MEMORY OPTIONS

Both Zenfone 5 and Moto G2 comes in two memory ranges 8GB and 16GB, but eventually Moto G2 has launched the Indian Market with just its 16GB version.

Zenfone 5 has the external Card slot which is a microSD, and can be added the memory up to 64 GB.

On the other hand, Moto G2 has the external Card slot which is a microSD, and can be added the memory only up to 32 GB.

Of Course Yes the Zenfone's 2GB RAM vs Moto G2 1 GB RAM makes a huge difference.

Operating System:

Zenfone 5 comes with an Android OS Version 4.3 which is a Jelly Bean and comes with an assured Kitkat Update.

Moto G2 comes with Android OS Version 4.4.4 which is a KitKat and comes with an assured upgradable to Android L.

Moto G2 coming direct from the Android factory makes it more pure , but some of the customised OS features in Zenfone 5 tries to compete with the Zenfone 5.

Though both the phones will have similar OS running in the future, currently until the KitKat update is available for Zenfone, Moto G2 will be considered as the better with a pure Android OS.

When comes to the Video capturing, Zenfone5 astonishingly comes with a 1080p@30fps when compared to 720p@30fps of

Moto G2.

WIth a high Quality 5 Element optical formula lens and with a wide aperture f/2.0 Zenfone 5 performs slightly better than

Moto G2 as a Camera.

VERDICT:
With the Zenfone 5 8GB sold for 9999 Rs in Flipkart and 12999 for 16GB , MOTO G2 for its 16GB with 12999 Rs in Flipkart,

With Overall Performance comparison, ASUS ZENFONE 5 is definitely the winner and has a better performance ration when compared, though Moto G2 is not a bad phone at this segment, but Asus with its powerful Intel Processor and 2GB RAM definitely is the phone to look out for in this segment.
